In order to raise public understanding of the Central Bank’s role in implementing monetary policy in Sri Lanka, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has published a pamphlet titled “Monetary Policy Implementation in Sri Lanka” in all three official languages.
According to the CBSL, as part of the Central Bank’s larger communication strategy, this publication presents a straightforward discussion on the technical aspects of implementing monetary policy, making it accessible to people from different backgrounds and offering insightful information on how to formulate, implement, use, and transmit monetary policy, as well as eradicating any erroneous perceptions of monetary operations among the general public.
A discussion of the importance of monetary policy in accomplishing Central Bank objectives, the operationalization of policy tools and liquidity management in implementing monetary policy, and the monetary transmission mechanism in Sri Lanka are all covered in this booklet.
According to the CBSL, in this context, this publication will serve as a helpful and trustworthy source of information for individuals with an interest in Sri Lanka’s execution of monetary policy.
