The retirement age for physicians has been raised to 63 till the end of 2024, per a directive from President Ranil Wickremesinghe to the Minister of Health and his staff.
According to the Ministry’s requirements, this change will also be made for other unusual instances, according to a report from the President’s Media Division (PMD).
Based on a report provided by the subcommittee in this matter that was appointed by the Cabinet, this decision was made.
