The head of Wayamaba University’s accounting department, Prof. Aminda Methsila Perera, has expressed alarm about a potential economic crisis that Sri Lanka may experience in September of this year.
Prof. Perera continued by stating that the failure to implement the terms and agreements reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased the likelihood of the crisis entering a second phase.
Prof. Perera stated that just 10% of the agreements reached about Sri Lanka’s economic recovery had been met, despite the government of Sri Lanka being expected to fulfil at least 39% of them, at a news conference organised by the People’s Collective for Economic Justice in Colombo.
