The Auditor General’s Office has made the decision to launch a special investigation into the acquisition and distribution of medications over the last two years.
The probe would encompass all organisations, including the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) and the Medical Supply Division of the Health Ministry, Auditor General W.P.C. Wickramaratne emphasised.
Additionally, Wickremeratne stated that the investigation operations are anticipated to start within the upcoming week.
In recent years, information on the purported usage of subpar pharmaceuticals has been consistently published from various regions of the nation.
