Yesterday (27), in the Presidential Secretariat, President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with the GMOA’s newly elected board of officers for the years 2023 and 2024.
They reportedly presented the President with their ideas regarding the introduction of a new salary structure based on market value and performance, the revision of the salaries of doctors undergoing internship training to prevent brain drain, and the revision of allowances for doctors, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD). The President also received a suggestion in this regard.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe asked the GMOA to submit ideas in this regard after outlining the pressing adjustments that must be made in the nation’s health care system.
