Pastor Jerome : SC informed of Rs. 12.2 bn worth of transactions

The Supreme Court was informed Wednesday that investigations turned up Rs. 12.2 billion in transactions involving bank accounts maintained by Sri Lankan Pastor Jerome Fernando.

According to reports, Additional Solicitor General Priyantha Nawana testified in court on behalf of the Attorney General and said that the transactions were discovered after an investigation of the controversial pastor’s 11 bank accounts.

According to Additional Solicitor General Priyantha Nawana, investigations into the aforementioned bank accounts are still ongoing and are being carried out in accordance with the Prevention Of Money Laundering Act.

The Sri Lanka Police have issued a warrant for Pastor Jerome Fernando after he allegedly insulted Lord Buddha, Islam, and Hinduism in front of a large crowd in May.
