The Department of Meteorology predicts many periods of light showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
During the evening or night, a few locations in the Eastern province may see showers or thundershowers.
Over the rest of the Island, the weather will be mostly fine.
The general public is recommended to adopt appropriate safety measures to reduce damages brought on by lightning and temporary, localised strong winds during thundershowers.
