The ‘Yal Nila Odyssey’, a brand-new, opulent express train that runs from Mount Lavinia to Kankesanturai, has started running with the intention of boosting travel to the country’s northern regions.
N.J. Indipolage, the Deputy General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways, stated that the train’s fully air-conditioned compartments were inaugurated on Friday, August 4.
Up until August 4, the train will only run on weekends, leaving from Mount Lavinia at 10:00 p.m. on Friday and arriving at Kankesanturai at 5:52 a.m. on Saturday. The train will remain at Kankesanturai station until Sunday night at 10:00 when it will depart. On Monday, it will arrive back at Mount Lavinia station at 6:00 a.m.
