The Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) had planned a protest march for today, August 10, in Colombo, but the Maligakanda Magistrate has issued an order prohibiting it.
According to the court ruling, the convenor of the IUSF, Madushan Chandrajith, and eight other members of the federation are not allowed to enter or demonstrate along Deans Road, Kularatna Mawatha, T.B. Jayah Mawatha, Technical Junction, or other neighbouring locations without the permission of the locals.
The IUSF’s planned protest march is now the subject of a second court injunction.
