In the Saliyawewa Police Division’s Thabbowa sanctuary, an unexpected fire has broken out.
The fire started last night, August 16, according to the police.
However, the fire was put out by Saliyawewa Police, the armed forces, and Karuwalagaswewa range forest authorities.
Police stated that no recorded property damage and the fire destroyed at least 50 acres of the nature reserve’s territory.
Police say they have not yet identified the fire’s cause.
Saliyawewa Police is looking into the situation more thoroughly.
