Sri Lanka, India mull cooperation in promoting fossil fuel alternatives in transport sector

When the departing Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India, Milinda Moragoda, paid a farewell visit to Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, they talked about working together to promote fossil fuel substitutes like electricity and biofuels in the transportation industry.

On August 24, Moragoda visited Minister Gadkari in New Delhi.

The Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi released a statement stating that the alternatives to fossil fuels were viewed as being extremely cost-effective and environmentally friendly, suited for a country like Sri Lanka.

The Indian minister discussed his nation’s experience with alternative energy and pledged to impart Sri Lanka with the necessary knowledge.
