President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasised that a comprehensive plan for modern commercial industry will be implemented throughout the nation by taking cues from the success of the Biyagama Free Trade Zone.
He stated as he took part in the Al Mubarak Central College’s centenary commemoration ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, 6 September, that this programme intends to push the country towards rapid development within the next 15 to 20 years.
The President emphasised the amazing improvement accomplished in the once impoverished Biyagama region, which was partly credited to the creation of the trade zone. His strategy includes making Sri Lanka an appealing investment location, which will open up a plethora of new prospects for foreign investors.
