The postal service in Sri Lanka has alerted the public to two financial frauds that use the service’s information.
The first deception comprises a bogus website with an online payment mechanism that seems like it belongs to the postal service.
The department clarified that Sri Lanka Post does not have an online payment option available on its official website.
According to the department, information concerning a website identical to the Postal Department’s operating to cheat the public financially by getting information about their credit and debit cards has come to light.
The suspects were discovered to have texted a number of recipients alerting them that they needed to pay for a package at the Postal Department that had been sent in their name.
