Following a debate between the appropriate trade unions and authorities, the train strike that had been scheduled to begin earlier today (11 Sep.) has been cancelled.
Shunting employees at the Colombo railway yards started a trade strike earlier today, which caused several train operations to be disrupted.
According to reports, unless the issue is fixed, trains scheduled to depart from the relevant railway yards won’t run.
