The lawsuit filed against numerous people, including MP Namal Rajapaksa, on charges of money laundering was scheduled to be heard on 15 February 2024 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (Sept. 14).
The politician for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and his business partners are accused of taking part in the illegal investment of Rs. 15 million into HelloCorp (Pvt) Limited.
When the case was heard in court this morning, Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis gave the pertinent order.
The Attorney General (AG) has not yet given directions for the course of the investigations in this matter, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) further informed the court.
