His Majesty, the King of Malaysia, has officially invited President Ranil Wickremesinghe to pay a state visit to Malaysia.
The President’s Media Division (PMD) reported that the Sri Lankan president cordially accepted the invitation and indicated his desire to plan the visit for either January or February of 2024.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim personally extended the King’s invitation during bilateral talks on the margins of the UNGA in New York on Wednesday, September 20.
The Malaysian prime minister firmly desired to strengthen economic connections between the two countries during their meeting. He emphasised how willing Malaysia is to support further investments by Malaysian businesses in Sri Lanka.
