The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that starting on October 1, 2023, electronic water invoices would be issued in place of printed ones.
Piyal Pathmanatha, deputy general manager of the NWSDB, emphasised that the new initiative will be introduced in 04 carefully chosen regulatory sectors as a first step.
Pathmanatha continued by stating that the procedure would be implemented on a trial basis in collaboration with the regional offices in Colombo-South, Kandy-South, Trincomalee, and Polonnaruwa.
By the first of January 2024, “We hope to expand this across the island,” he continued.
