According to the All-Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association, the government ought to permit an increase in private bus prices in line with yesterday’s increase in the price of diesel.
Anjana Priyanjith, the association’s general secretary, highlighted that the most recent fuel price revision requires an increase in bus fees of at least 5%.
Gemunu Wijeratne, president of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association, spoke on this matter but stressed that even though the price of auto diesel was increased by Rs. 10, it is not enough to change the bus fares.
