According to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), a woman from Sri Lanka who was reported missing during the conflict between Israel and Palestine is likely dead.
As of yesterday (October 9), two ladies and a man were reported missing, according to SLBFE Media spokesman Gamini Senarath Yapa.
He added that the SLBFE had heard that a Sri Lankan woman who lived in Israel had been killed in the fighting.
Our ability to confirm the deceased is limited. When there is a death, a certain process is followed. Authorities will need to verify the identify after seeing the body. We are unable to confirm the death at this time, however, as authorities are still not permitted to reach the Gaza region, according to Senarath Yapa.
He claimed that a request had been made to the authorities to learn more about the woman through the Sri Lankan Embassy and Foreign Ministry.
He provided more information about the Sri Lankan woman, stating that she is a mother of two from Gampaha who has visited Israel three times after registering with the SLBFE and most recently went there to work as a carer.
After launching thousands of missiles into Israel in an unexpected attack, the Palestinian Islamist organisation Hamas ignited a deadly conflict with Israel.
