At the International French Travel Market (IFTM) trade event in Paris, France, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) announced a new campaign with the tagline “Sri Lanka: you will come back for more.”

The SLTPB noted in a statement that with 27 exhibiting firms, Sri Lanka had a strong representation at the IFTM Top Resa.

With its new destination branding “You will come back for more,” Sri Lanka will return after 2021. Following the adoption of the new brand identity, this is the first participation in a travel fair.

With nearly 44,000 visitors recorded for the first nine months of 2023, France is third among the seven markets that generate the most tourists for Sri Lanka, close behind the UK and Germany.

According to the SLTPB, the presence of 27 co-exhibitors at IFTM Top Resa demonstrated that Sri Lankan tourism is back on track.

“We started the’seeing is believing’ portion of the campaign, which demonstrated that the situation in the nation is typical. Chairman of SLTPB Chalaka Gajabahu said, “We are currently launching a new campaign, the slogan Sri Lanka “you will return back for more” which we were presenting at IFTM to the trade visitors.

Manisha Gunasekara, the ambassador of Sri Lanka to the French Embassy, lit the ceremonial oil lamp to officially open the Sri Lanka pavilion at IFTM. She was followed by representatives from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), and Tourist Hoteliers Association of Sri Lanka (THASL).

The event’s trade and tourism attendees paid close attention to Sri Lanka, which was successful in doing so. The Sri Lankan pavilion showcased a variety of the potential culture, natural beauty, Ayurveda, and other attractions that Sri Lanka may provide as a travel destination. To entice potential tourist segments, Sri Lanka has optimised its “Sri Lanka – You will come back for more” spectacular sights. Ceylon tea was provided to guests at the Sri Lanka pavilion with the intention of promoting Ceylon tea in the French market.
