After an excellent month that included guiding Sri Lanka to a surprise series victory, Athapaththu defeated South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Nadine de Klerk to win the prize.
The Sri Lanka Women’s captain shone as her team won two of their three Women’s T20I matches, giving them their first series victory over England in any format.
