Employees from several state agencies and local public services are expected to stage a number of protests today, according to reports.
Today marks the beginning of a two-day walkout by the Public Health Inspectors Union (PHI) over a number of demands.
Commencing today, provincial public service trade unions will launch a statewide protest campaign.
Development Officers, Management Officers, Grama Niladhari Officers, Samurdhi Officers, Office Services, and other sector personnel from the province public service sector would participate in the protest.
The protest campaign will call for a pay increase through the 2024 Budget or an allowance of Rs. 20,000.
