Switzerland’s Edelweiss Air commences charter flight operations to SL

The first flight of the Swiss carrier Edelweiss Air to Sri Lanka landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake (BIA) today, November 3.

At 8.50 a.m., the famous Swiss airline flight, which had started its winter operations, landed at the BIA with 221 passengers on board.

From November 3, 2023, to May 17, 2024, the airline will run weekly flights from Zurich to Colombo, according to Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL).

Travellers may now take advantage of a convenient direct route from Colombo to the heart of Europe with Swiss International Air Lines, which offers numerous onward flight options from Zurich to destinations across Europe, North America, and beyond.

Located at Zurich Airport, Edelweiss Air is a holiday airline that primarily offers charter and holiday flights to 70 locations across over 30 countries worldwide. It is a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and a member of the Lufthansa Group.

The airline, which was founded in 1995 and took its name from the Edelweiss flower, a resilient and beautiful symbol of Switzerland, is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and has made a name for itself in the aviation sector.

The airline’s full 2023–2024 winter flight schedule, which covers 57 vacation spots across 32 countries (including short- and medium-haul), is a dependable companion that guarantees the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of all customers.
