For the majority of Sri Lanka’s provinces tonight evening, the Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory regarding strong lightning.
The caution, according to the Met Department, is in effect until 11.30 p.m. today.
As a result, in most provinces, there will be multiple locations where showers or thundershowers may occur in the evening.
Severe lightning and thunderstorms are predicted to occur in multiple locations in the provinces of Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Northern, North-western, and North-Central.
In certain areas, 100 mm or more of heavy showers are predicted.
