Two more individuals have been taken into custody by police in connection with the alleged extortion of money from Janaka Ratnayake, the former head of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).
Police said that the two suspects, who were apprehended in the Pelwehera neighbourhood of Dambulla, helped and accommodated the primary suspect in the case.
The two individuals in issue, according to the police, are 38 and 40 years old.
Ratnayake allegedly filed a complaint at the Kirulapone Police Station on October 16th, claiming to have received a call from someone claiming to have been given a contract to kill him and requesting Rs. 1.5 million in exchange for averting his death.
