With their disappointing return to the island this morning (10 November), the Sri Lankan cricket team’s 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign has come to an end.
Around 5:50 a.m., the team took SriLankan Airlines flight UL-174 from Bangalore, India to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.
To greet the national team, a number of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials had also shown up at the airport.
The national cricket governing body had arranged a bus for the squad, but the majority of them decided to drive themselves out of the airport premises, there were reports that the area’s security had been strengthened.
