Kusal Mendis, the captain of Sri Lanka, has expressed regret for his team’s lacklustre performance at the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and promised to take the necessary steps to prevent a repeat of that fate.
Speaking to the media this morning, November 10, when the team arrived at Katunayake’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Mendis conveyed his sadness that the Sri Lankan team, despite giving it their all, suffered consecutive defeats throughout the competition.
“We had a good start. As we began to lose games, we considered how to stop it from happening, how to improve, and how we might do our hardest as a team, the Sri Lankan captain added.
