A commuter train travelling to Panadura and Colombo Fort reportedly experienced a breakdown close to the Bothale railway station. It had left the Rambukkana train station at 5:57 in the morning.
Consequently, numerous trains operating on the Main Line experience delays exceeding forty minutes. These trains include the Matara-bound train from Kandy and the Colobmo Fort-bound train from Polgahawela and Ambepussa.
The defective train, meantime, is operating just as far as the Colombo Fort railway station and is approximately two hours behind schedule.
