In his role as the Minister of Finance, President Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to propose the 2024 Budget to the Parliament today, March 13.
Thus, on Monday, November 13, at noon, the President will deliver the nation’s 78th Budget Speech during the Second Reading of the Appropriations Bill for the fiscal year 2024.
The 2024 Budget Second Reading discussion will thereafter take place for seven days, from November 14 to November 21, excluding Sundays.
Moreover, November 21 at 6:00 p.m. is when the Second Reading of the Budget vote is supposed to take place.
