In response to questions during the cricket board’s summons before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on Tuesday, November 14, Silva acknowledged that he had brought friends and family along to the World Cup in Australia the previous year.

In response to questions in this regard raised by MPs Anura Dissanayake and Dayasiri Jayasekera, the SLC President thus acknowledged having taken his mother-in-law Daisy Janet, brother-in-law Robert Silva, his close friend Shrimal Gunaratne and wife Nishadhi Padmasiri, and another friend, Sanjaya Samarasinghe, to Australia.
