Sri Lanka will aim to overcome batting inconsistencies and injury concerns when they face Oman in their Group B encounter on Thursday.
The co-hosts have suffered a major setback with star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Despite the blow, Sri Lanka began their campaign with a 20-run victory over Ireland, with Kusal Mendis scoring a half-century and Kamindu Mendis contributing a rapid 44 off 19 balls.
Oman, meanwhile, endured a difficult start to their tournament, suffering an eight-wicket defeat to Zimbabwe in their opening match after being comprehensively outplayed.
A massive boost to the NRR as well, just in case it comes down to that.
A brilliant all-round performance: the batters set it up, the bowlers finished it off, and the fielding was top-notch!
Hope Sri Lanka keeps up the good work heading into the must-win games ahead.
