World Health Day 2026 is being marked today (April 7) under the theme “Together for health. Stand with science,” calling on people worldwide to support science-driven solutions for better health.

This year’s observance also launches a year-long global campaign highlighting the importance of scientific collaboration in safeguarding the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment. A key focus of the campaign is the One Health approach, which promotes a unified approach to health across multiple sectors.

Two major global events are set to anchor the 2026 campaign. The International One Health Summit, hosted by France under its G7 Presidency, will take place on April 7. This will be followed by the Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres from April 7 to 9, bringing together nearly 800 scientific institutions from over 80 countries.

These gatherings represent one of the largest scientific collaborations ever organized around a United Nations agency, emphasizing the critical role of partnerships in translating scientific knowledge into real-world health solutions.

Organizers are encouraging global participation in the campaign by recognizing scientific achievements, promoting evidence-based action, sharing personal experiences, and joining the conversation through the hashtags #StandWithScience and #WorldHealthDay.
