The Department of Meteorology says several spells of showers are expected today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
A few showers may also occur in the Anuradhapura District.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces, and in the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions against strong winds and localized showers.
