Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva and a party delegation have held discussions with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh during their ongoing visit to India.
The meeting took place on Monday (28) as part of the JVP delegation’s visit to India, which was undertaken at the invitation of the BJP.
During the discussions, the JVP delegation was briefed on the history and organisational structure of the BJP, including its membership and organisational network extending to the grassroots level.
The discussions also focused on various development projects and programmes being implemented in India, as well as the leadership of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two sides discussed the importance of strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the JVP and BJP, with a view to further promoting relations and cooperation between Sri Lanka and India.
During the visit, the JVP delegation also met Rupkumari Chaudhary, National President of the BJP’s women’s organisation.
Separate discussions were held with BJP youth organisation representatives Vineet Vats Tyagi and Bhakti Sharma.
