The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (28) announced that its decision on the bail application filed by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody over the controversial Krish transaction, will be delivered on November 3.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama made the announcement after considering submissions from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and lawyers representing Rajapaksa.

The Parliamentarian was remanded over allegations that he accepted a bribe of Rs. 100 million in connection with the transfer of land at Transworks Square in Colombo Fort to the Krish Group for a proposed multipurpose development project.

The allegations concern claims that the payment was accepted in exchange for facilitating the transfer of the land to the company.
