In order to introduce the life history of the Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) the book launch ceremony of ‘When The Moon Split’, translated from English to Sinhala (සඳ දෙකඩ සඳ), was held yesterday(October 25) evening at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research Training Institute,Colombo.
Ven. Karavila Kotuwe Dhamma Thilaka Thero, Assistant Director, Colombo District, Ministry of Education, was attended as a special speaker at the event.
“When The Moon Split” was translated into Sinhala by journalist, writer and artist Saman Pushpa Liyanage.
Subsequently, a special video related to the website ‘NewsNow'(NewsNow.lk)was shown to the audience.
Dr. Dhammika Jayasinghe, Senior Lecturer of Ruhunu University and Advisor of Pahana Media presented an introductory speech on ‘Pahana Academy’, another initiative of Pahana Media Pvt. Ltd.
Further, Director of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, Ibrahim Ansar participated as a chief guest and National Peace Council Project Manager Saman Senaviratne, Secretary of All Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulama Ash- Sheikh Arkam Nooramith, Former president of Muslim Media Forum N M Ameen and many other intellectuals and dignitaries were present at this event.
It is noteworthy that, during this event, a booklet containing the opinions of non-Muslim scholars about Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) distributed for free of charge.(NewsNow)
