President Ranil Wickremesinghe today named Professor Sunil Ariyaratne to serve as the Chancellor of the University of Visual and Performing Arts. (04).
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has announced this appointment with immediate effect and for a five-year term, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
According to Section 32 of the University Act No. 16 of 1978, as amended by Act No. 07 of 1985, the appointment has been issued.
Professor Sunil Ariyaratne has received the letter of nomination confirming his appointment as the chancellor of the University of Visual and Performing Arts from the president’s secretary, Saman Ekanayake.
