Kana Kananathan, the high commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, was present for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s swearing-in as the country’s new president on Monday, May 29.
According to a release, Ambassador Kananathan’s assistance deepens and elevates Sri Lanka’s and Nigeria’s diplomatic ties to previously unheard-of heights.
At Tinubu’s inauguration as Nigeria’s 16th President, 18 African Presidents were present in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Nigeria is a significant power on the continent, with a population of more than 225 million and the greatest GDP in the continent.
The announcement also stated that this event marks a significant turning point in Nigeria’s history as the country, which is teeming with potential and economic might, sets off on a revolutionary path.
