National Freedom Front (Jathika Nidahas Peramuna) member L.K. Jagath Priyankara has been appointed to fill the parliamentary seat left vacant by the tragic death of State Minister Sanath Nishantha.
The state minister and his security officer lost their lives in a collision with a container truck on the Colombo-Katunayake expressway at around 2:00 a.m. Three individuals, including the state minister, were rushed to Colombo North Teaching Hospital, where both the lawmaker and his security guard succumbed to their injuries.
