Former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has announced his intention to retire from politics before the age of 65, advocating for the implementation of a retirement age for politicians.
Speaking at a public gathering in Nugegoda, the Parliamentarian highlighted the need for a retirement age limit in politics similar to that in the public sector.
Ranasinghe emphasized the importance of mental fitness for effective governance, citing examples from history.
He stated, “We will set my political career as an example. I am ready to retire before the age of 65.”
