The death toll from the devastating fire at an elders’ home in Batagoda, Anguruwatota, has risen to 11, according to Police.
Authorities said three individuals remain missing following the incident, while 51 residents were rescued from the burning facility.
Seven people who sustained injuries have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Police stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, while search and recovery operations continue at the scene.
