Minister of Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj has urged parents to ensure preschool children wear clothing that fully covers their arms and legs as part of strengthened measures to prevent dengue.

Speaking to the media today (13), the Minister said the directive applies especially to preschools, calling on parents to dress children in suitable protective clothing before sending them to class.

She also advised parents to use child-safe mosquito repellents where appropriate and to take all necessary precautions to protect children from mosquito bites.

Warning that dengue continues to pose a significant threat in educational settings, the Minister said the next two weeks will be particularly critical and appealed to parents to remain vigilant and strictly follow preventive measures.
