The computer system of Sri Lanka’s Department of Immigration and Emigration, which experienced a sudden technical breakdown this morning, has now been fully restored, officials confirmed.
Department spokesman Mahesh Karunadasa said the system encountered a technical fault earlier in the day but has since returned to normal operations.
The disruption temporarily affected the issuance of foreign passports, resulting in delays for applicants during the morning.
Authorities said services are now functioning normally following the restoration of the system.
