Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne informed Parliament today (20) that he had received copies of four additional petitions filed before the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.
He said the latest petitions were in addition to three petitions challenging the proposed amendment that had been received by him yesterday.
The Speaker made the announcement at the commencement of today’s parliamentary sitting.
