Animal lovers have been given an opportunity to help name a newborn Nile hippopotamus at the National Zoological Gardens in Dehiwala.
The zoo has launched a public naming initiative, inviting children to submit their suggestions through a designated online form.
However, participation in the naming competition is limited to children below the age of 12.
The initiative aims to encourage public participation while strengthening the connection between the zoo and the community of animal lovers.
Those wishing to take part are required to provide the necessary details and submit their proposed name through the official online form, which is now open for entries.
