Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena on Friday (October 16) issued a court order preventing Ven. Ulapane Sumangala Thera and 54 others from remaining within the premises of the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The order was issued as a group of Buddhist monks continued a protest demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera.
The protest began on Thursday evening, with several monks remaining at the site overnight.
The protesters are currently gathered on the pavement across Galle Road, opposite the Presidential Secretariat.
