After being brought before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (29), Ven. Rajangane Saddharathana Thero, who was detained by the police in Anuradhapura for allegedly uttering comments that might disturb religious peace, was given the order to be held in detention until June 7.
According to reports, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) detained Saddharathana Thero last night in Anuradhapura’s Sravasthipura neighborhood.
In conjunction with the investigations into a complaint filed by Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thero over some remarks made detrimental to religious unity, Ven. Saddharathana Thero has been detained.
