The southwest monsoon is expected to progressively spread throughout the island during the next several days, according to the Meteorology Department.
In the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Southern Provinces, showers or thundershowers are occasionally predicted.
In the meantime, certain areas of the Sabaragamuwa Province as well as the Galle, Matara, and Kalutara districts are anticipated to see severe rainfall of up to 100 mm.
The Northwestern province will get a few rain periods. In the evening or night, rain or thundershowers will fall in the provinces of Uva and the East.
