Faris Hadad-Zervos, the country director for Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Nepal at the World Bank, has praised Sri Lanka’s current efforts to address the island nation’s economic difficulties.
Speaking on Tuesday, July 18, at a gathering in Colombo, Faris emphasised the significance of continuing the current programme and the requirement that the country’s citizens be made aware of this.
He remarked, “The journey has been travelled quite a bit; we still have a long way to go, but there has also been good progress.”
He added that even though Sri Lanka’s economy is currently recovering, there are still a few challenging choices to be taken about the country’s future.
