The expanded Poster Walkthrough at the Centre for Islamic Studies (CIS) Harmony Center was officially declared open by Western Province Governor Hanif Yusoof at a ceremony held in Colombo.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs Sheikh Muneer Mulaffer, the President and Board of Directors of the CIS Harmony Center, as well as the centre’s team of mosque tour guides and calligraphy artists.
A certificate awarding ceremony for the mosque tour guides and calligraphists was also held as part of the event, with the certificates presented by Governor Hanif Yusoof.
According to Asiff Hussein, Vice-President of Outreach at the CIS Harmony Center, the expanded Poster Walkthrough at the centre’s premises on Rohini Road, Wellawatte, features around 70 posters presented in all three languages.
He said the facility is intended to be opened to the general public through walk-in visits, as well as special group bookings.
Hussein said the initiative was planned following a request by Governor Hanif Yusoof and expressed appreciation for the Governor’s presence and continued support for the CIS Harmony Center’s Mosque Tours and Poster Walkthrough projects.
